The majority of the Tusks first year categories were either inspired or directly taken from a car ride I had with Holly Ween as we drove home from Alternatease. We were inspired by the superlatives that festival provided, and the Golden Pasties at NYC’s festival. Most of the first year’s titles were a touch more tongue in cheek.

They were nearly called the White Ivory Awards, or the White Ivories. Better choices were made.
